Guest guest
For our son it was HSV #6. Being on Acyclovir helped a lot.Leann To: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism ; Lyme-Aid Sent: Monday, May 14, 2012 6:36 PM Subject: what causes noise sensitivity? I am wondering if there are any vitamin/mineral deficiencies that can cause noise sensitivity. my son gets very aggressive when he hears loud noises. karen Hi,We are very new to the Lyme world. My son has GI symptoms, but none of the classic Lyme symptoms. Still, because has been bitten many times by ticks in North Carolina (and probably Philadelphia, as well) and because his GI issues are so intractable we are looking in to Lyme. We just did the bloodwork for Advanced Labs, which I know only tests for Lyme. Do you think that it's worth doing Igenex to look for co-infection? I know that some people think Fry Labs is another good option. Our LLMD had nothing bad to say about Fry, but seemed more inclined to have us do the Igenex test. I know it has a good reputation, but I also know that some folks have not gotten accurate results from Igenex. Any thoughts would be most appreciated. Thanks,
Guest guest
I think I have seen people blame protozoa, like Babesia, for noise sensitivity. I would say I was normal socially, but I remember hating to be around loud music, and terrified of balloons popping. When the balloon popped, I felt the sensation of pain, not physical pain, but the adversion sensation you get when you feel pain. It had to do with the unexpectedness of the loud noise. I was terrified of it. In my early twenties, the problem went away on it's own. At that time in my life, I was eating very little sugar due to having low blood sugar, so maybe the lower sugar allowed my immune system to work better. I have an adult son who went from gobs of autism symptoms, ADHD, etc, and in special needs school to being able to do regular school due to biomed. He still hates being around balloons; although, he has learned to tolerate all other loud noises now. I guess it's the unexpectedness for him as well. We both hate thunder though. We both tested positive for several tickborne infections, including Babesia. Love and prayers, Heidi N I am wondering if there are any vitamin/mineral deficiencies that can cause noise sensitivity. my son gets very aggressive when he hears loud noises. karen
Guest guest
HHV6, that is interesting, thanks for sharing... my son has severe startle response (it looks like noise sensativity, but he listens to his music and tapes loudly with no problem, some have said it is selective noise sensativity, but I think it is a severe startle response, this is typical with bartonella and also a toxic liver, which I know my son has both... it has gotten severe over last two years after using many antibiotics/antiparasitic pharmaceuticals. Giving him liver detox drops have helped a bit, but he is now trained/automatically jumps out of his skin at any sound that has startled him in the past, chickens, dogs, kids...etc.. it doesnt matter how many miles away or faint it is... deborah > > For our son it was HSV #6. Being on Acyclovir helped a lot. > Leann > > > ________________________________ > > To: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism ; Lyme-Aid > Sent: Monday, May 14, 2012 6:36 PM > Subject: what causes noise sensitivity? > > >  > > > > I am wondering if there are any vitamin/mineral deficiencies that can cause > noise sensitivity. my son gets very aggressive when he hears loud noises. > karen > In a message dated 5/12/2012 8:14:08 P.M. Guest guest
I would say parasites. My son had horrible hyperacusis and could not sleep if someone flushed a toilet on the other side of the house at night and had NO receptive language because he heard background noises so loud he could not hear voices. This resolved near immediately on starting mepron. I had an extreme startle response myself. My husband was always complaining, " do you think you live alone? " If I were reading a book or on the computer and he entered the room, I would jump up and scream and be so genuinely scared. This went away for me on alinia. It also eliminated an overactive reflex I had when I was driving that I felt like cars were going to hit me when they were not. I noticed when I had die off on alinia it made me cry a lot and just be sad and weepy, but that resolved after a week or so of die off. I also noticed that when we later treated for helminths with ivermectin, some of these sensations came back for us and we needed to retreat for protozoa. I think the little guys were still hiding in the big worms and came out again as they died. Guest guest
hi caryn, mepron and alinia help with babesia right? I need to find naturals to work on this (I think we may start artimisia again?) because his liver is not handling any phara drugs at all, actually doing the liver detox has reduced his insomnia and rages and startle response. Your symptoms exactly detail my sons, boy when my husband makes any loud noise (he is very loud and animated and kinda drivesme nuts too), my son is scared to death and starts screaming. we didnt see much help from alinia or albenza, havent tried ivermectin. I am really considering the MMS, do you know if that is helping anyone for the babesia/bart/mycoplasma/parasites in general? deborah > > > > > > For our son it was HSV #6. Being on Acyclovir helped a lot. > > > Leann > > > > > > > > > ________________________________ > > > From: " klwadler@ " <klwadler@> > > > To: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism ; Lyme-Aid > > > Sent: Monday, May 14, 2012 6:36 PM > > > Subject: what causes noise sensitivity? > > > > > > > > >  > > > > > > > > > > > > I am wondering if there are any vitamin/mineral deficiencies that can cause > > > noise sensitivity. my son gets very aggressive when he hears loud noises. > > > karen > > > In a message dated 5/12/2012 8:14:08 P.M. Guest guest
Hi Deborah, mmepron and alinia can target babesia, but also other things. We have a plethora of worms and other little parasites. I have only been taking MMS for a couple of months and I am not sure itnis particularly effective if the parasite department. I have discontinued my own antibiotics protocol for MMS and will know what sort of coverage I am getting from it after I see my LLMD in July for ART. My son is on much less MMS and is not off of other meds yet. I am a big fan of Zhang's artemisiae. I have taken others with less success. But when we used high dose artemisiae we got elected liver enzymes. > > > > > > > > For our son it was HSV #6. Being on Acyclovir helped a lot. > > > > Leann > > > > > > > > > > > > ________________________________ > > > > From: " klwadler@ " <klwadler@> > > > > To: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism ; Lyme-Aid > > > > Sent: Monday, May 14, 2012 6:36 PM > > > > Subject: what causes noise sensitivity? > > > > > > > > > > > >  > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I am wondering if there are any vitamin/mineral deficiencies that can cause > > > > noise sensitivity. my son gets very aggressive when he hears loud noises. > > > > karen > > > > In a message dated 5/12/2012 8:14:08 P.M. Guest guest
I am probably way off base here, but I thought I would add my view about noise sensitivity. I see this when my daughter is on anti-biotics, particularly Bactrim or Flagyl and I beleive it has to do with the fact that they decrease folate. She already has Cerebral Folate Deficiency and these anti-biotics make it worse - this is when we see noise sensitivity. We also see a drop in speech with tboth anti-biotics, which correlates with the folate deficiency, so we avoid them.
