, I was able to get a handicap tag application from my town and had my

primary care doctor fill it out.  Brought it back to the town and got the

tag.  No problems.   I get the antsy feeling when I'm " tired " and sitting.

I have to either walk or go lay down to make it go away.  It usually happens in

the late evening so I just go to bed.   Did this come on suddenly?

Wondering if anyone else is having these leg issues..basically I feel a burning

from my buttocks to my toes and an antsy feeling when standing/walking. It's

become unbearable to shower, hubby had to get me a chair for the tub today

because I can't stand for 20 min. I feel like I have been running/walking for

hours, even if I just stand for 5 min.

How do I go about figuring out what this is? And how do I get a handicapped

sticker for my car? I had to walk through the hospital with my dad today and it

was terrible.

Thanks!

,

No not really but I have been standing a lot more because I quit my job. Usually

I would sit 9-5 (at least). The shower stuff has been going on for a while, but

now with the standing in general everything has been getting worse.

This is kind of an all day thing, as long as I am walking/standing.

Thanks, I will see my doc with the form :)

Hi

I pretty much consider the pain you describe, nerve pain. It may

sound strange, but I essentially view and treat different types of

pain using different methods/medications. What works for one, will

not work for another.

For nerve pain, I have had very good success with Topamax, although I

had to recently lower my dose after several years. I had trouble

finding nouns and began to sound like I had Alzheimer's.

Absolute ask your doctor about a handicapped plate for your car. The

criteria is based on how far you can walk, if you use a cane, etc..

Well I have been on Neurontin and that has been working for the last 2 years

almost, plus of course the narcotics BUT I just had a mold done of my feet and

it's pretty bad. I am literally crushing the middle of my foot when I walk, I

suspect due to nerve damage, alignment etc..The legs make my pelvis hurt etc..I

am so over it!!!

Dr. Frim is my NS and his nurse said to fax things over and he will fill it out,

but he would like a new MRI :(

Custom made orthotics helped me immensely, knee pain completely gone,

still occasional right hip pain but a stretch and leg pull usually fixes

it.

You go to your DMV and get an application then have ur doc fill it out,

no charge in Colorado. Also many doctors have the form in their office.

Great! Having a mold done of your feet is the first thing a orthotist

will do. Then he/she will have you stand on a special (machine for lack

of word) that will tell where the pressure points are compared to where

they are supposed to be. Then he/she will mold you a custom orthotic

that will, over time, attempt to correct your foot pressure. Mine also

have wedges so I dont stand on the sides of my feet. That is the most

common problem. It is amazing how much stress you put on your knees and

hips when you can not stand correctly.
