Guest guest
My daughter was diagnosed with lyme at 18 mos. (all 4 of my children have the lyme soup) LLMDs believe I gave it to her. I have heard Dr. Joe B. - a lyme specialist - speak and he says that lyme is proven to be in breast milk as well as being transferred in utero. In listening to him speak I wondered too if it was sexually transmitted - I actually called the CDC - who I believe are not lyme literate - they said it was not sexually transmitted - but knowing that the lyme bacteria is a cousin of syphllis - I would say I can't agree with that - especially since it is in the blood. Guest guest
BTW, my current LLMD told me he thinks it may be airborne and that this was discussed at ILADS. My former LLMD told me that it was not sexually transmitted, yet couples share the infections because their microscopic bed parasites pass it from one partner to the other from sharing the bed. Either way, my husband and I have the same coinfections and my son was born with them. Caryn > > My daughter was diagnosed with lyme at 18 mos.
