Guest guest
Just another side effect of lyme. Must have been so scary for you, so young. It happened to my son. I took him for HBOT for a month, because no DR could tell me why he suddenly could not walk. HBOT got my son up on his feet and also some P.T. I still look back and think how the DR's did nothing, or suggested no further testing. My son had an MRI, CAT Scan and Lumbar puncture. None of DR's were concerned about, that a young boy is unable to suddenly walk, just that everything looked good on film and lab test. sigh.... It was not until years later thru searching I came across lyme, and had him tested. It all made sense, but its been like living in reverse for years, seeing what was missed. Still uncovering more lately.. Allie > > Ok - I was just reading the " Upcoming events " message by Tami, and read about Landau (to appear on Dr. Phil's Lyme show). She woke up one day unable to move from the waist down. > I had this happen to me when I was 8 or 9. I woke up one morning and was paralyzed from the waist down. I remember literally dragging my butt around the house for 2 weeks before I was able to start walking again - and the walking was slow and laborious for at least another 2 weeks. > Has anyone experienced this with lyme, or has anyone's children experienced this? I've always wondered what happened to me... > Kim >
Guest guest
Wow, thanks for sharing what happened to your son. So amazing that no doc would have a clue or make a connection. Hopefully there is more awareness now of lyme... just such a freaky side effect. I hope he is doing well Kim > > Just another side effect of lyme. Guest guest
Years ago our young, healthy family dog suddenly lost the use of her hind legs. This was in Minnesota, where Lyme is endemic and we were often pulling ticks off ourselves and our pets. I didn't know such paralysis was a symptom of Lyme. Perhaps it happens to dogs, too.... Guest guest
Yes, I didn't know that either until recently... I imagine it must happen to dogs and animals as well. There are so many symptoms! Guest guest
My dog has recently developed this. I've had her tested 2x for Lyme. Both times negative. I wonder if the testing for dogs is as bad as for humans? Anyone know about testing of animals?RuthSent from my iPhone Yes, I didn't know that either until recently...
