Guest guest
Babesia can be quite resistant to treatment, so mepron alone may not be effective enough to clear the infection. A doc in Florida has studied Babesia and written a book about treating it. He recommends using a combination of meds, including adding Zithromax. Anne Mears, RN, MSN/IHmcfighter@... Guest guest
The doctor is Schaller, and he has written several books on Babesia. Here is what I found on Amazon.com. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_1_7?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks & field-keywords=babesia & sprefix=babesia%2Caps%2C324 Anne Mears, RN, MSN/IHmcfighter@... Guest guest
And when I saw that very dr, he put me on zithromax, minocycline, high doses of mepron, malarone and artemisiae all at once to treat babesia. He told me that is what it takes to kill babesia. I will say that I have tested again repeatedly and never had a positive test again. > > Babesia can be quite resistant to treatment, so mepron alone may not be > effective enough to clear the infection. Guest guest
hi caryn, how long were you on this mixture of antibiotics? and did you have any negative side effects like GI issues? were there immediate improvements in symptoms or did it take a while after you stopped taking the meds? my 3.5 year old has babesia (and has the strain that's hard to treat), so i'm interested in your experience. thanks! nancy > > > > Babesia can be quite resistant to treatment, so mepron alone may not be > > effective enough to clear the infection. Guest guest
I took that combination for 6 months. My son was under 3 at the time and a lesser combination was too much for him. I did not have any GI symptoms, but I was exhausted and probably eating to stay awake. It is my experience that mepron is excellent for the gut. Perhaps that was just for us because we had protozoa in the gut, but it really helped. We are now using MMS and I would recommend it for anyone with gut issues. We are using the frequent, low dose method used by Kerri Riveria. It seems to work as a purifier of the GI tract, therefore eliminating all opportunistic things in the gut. His belly is as flat as could be and poops are awesome and very low odor. > > > > > > Babesia can be quite resistant to treatment, so mepron alone may not be > > > effective enough to clear the infection.
