Guest guest
Dear Bitza, I am sure that I don't have endo. I have had two laparoscopies and one laparotomy. I did have pelvic adhesions. My fallopian tubes were adhered to my bowels. But I had surgery to repair them. My gastrointerologist, just told me to drink plenty of water, no carbonated drinks, or chewing gum or sucking mints. She told me to take Fiber con daily. I am sure the WW will help,,, but quite frankly with the Easter holiday I haven't even made an attempt. I am terrible. I really need some help. Thanks for the advise, PS. she also put me on Paxil, which I think is an antidepressant? The problem with that dx is that sometimes it is a dx because they don't know what else to tell you. (For example, when I was first dx, it turned out I really had very bad endometriosis which was interfering with my bowels.) I recommend keeping a food journal with symptoms. You may be able to figure out which foods bother you. It's important to increase fiber intake and keep fat intake down, which is why ww is so great for IBS, since it encourages both. Some people never do well with certain foods; for example, I don't do very well with potatoes of any kind. I don't know if this helps or not, but I hope you feel better soon! btiza _________________________________________________________________ Join the world's largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com

I did not find that fibercon helped. I did better with the liquid fiber supplements (citracel tastes the best, and I think comes in a sf version.) >PS. she also put me on Paxil, which I think is an antidepressant? I do not take paxil, but I have a friend who has IBS who does. She found that it helped. Paxil is an SSRI, which means that it can be used for depression, but it's also good for anxiety disorders, which IBS can sometimes be related to. (IBS is considered a " stress " /anxiety symptom.) The only thing about SSRIs like Paxil is that they *can* sometimes cause carbohydrate cravings in some people. This can make it difficult to lose weight. BUT this doesn't happen to everyone and it's worth finding out if this makes you feel better physically. If you find that it's making your lifestyle change more difficult, you can talk to your doctor about a different option. btiza _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com
