hi Suzanne,

no, actually - for me at least, I really appreciate knowing what and how others cope with the regimen of physio plus meds.  I've found it quite a sudden and steep adjustment curve this past couple of years.  At times it has seemed so burdensome and I don't have a family to care for a job to fit in.  And yet still, there are days I just don't seem to have the time at the right time to do the meds. You seem to have worked out a really good system for yourself - which takes time and perseverance.I cough up a lot - heaps some days - while doing either nebs or S/vest, which interrupts whatever else I'm doing.  Occasionally I don't cough up much, but it's rare!I do my nebs around midday & have sit-down time, then the SmartVest later... before eating, also found don't like doing in evening, kind of too vigorous when wanting to ease back on the day.  I adjusted the vest & tried to do a sudoku but still some vibration, made it difficult distinguishing 3s and 8s etc.  If I do nebs (w/ mouthpiece) it splashes my glasses a bit so don't like doing the 2 together - I think they accentuate the vibration too.  Wearing glasses is a pain sometimes!  then I do nasal flush at night & evening meds. Now this is probably too much info for most!cheersjoy h

Suzanne & Joy - yes, yes, I am so interested in your routines. The information you email is very helpful. When I started the vest the pressure was so low, I got discouraged and didn't think it was working. I increased the pressure to only 10 and stayed on it for an hr. and I finally was able to get the gunk out by doing extreme huff coughing......I was so exhausted at the end of the routine, I couldn't function. By reading your emails and realizing that some of you had really high pressure...ie 17, I started to experiment and now am doing 15-16 and YES, it is horrible. I have to have the TV on so loud, the neighbors can hear it.

I am hoping to shorten my hr. twice a day down a bit - well suppose that is wishful thinking!

Suzanne - I also find it interesting that you don't cough while doing the vest........and that it later comes up by itself. It sounds like you've got your routine worked out and it is working. I have so much gunk, like you Joy, that I constantly am aware of it.

Thanks again for all the info.

I don't cough, nor do I try to cough when I'm doing my Vest. To me, the point is to loosen the gunk up and it will come up later on its own. For me, this is usually late afternoon when I sit down. At that time, I lie down and get it all up.I know myself well enough to know that if I didn't have this machine hooked up and ready to go (along with my nebulizer) next to my computer, which is in my basement, I simply would never get around to doing it. In the AM when I get up, I make my bed, take my meds, fix my hair/makeup and get dressed BEFORE coming downstairs - again, if I came downstairs first, I might get distracted and not get back upstairs for a long while. I feed the dog, let him outside, feed myself, brush my teeth, and then go down my basement and do my two machines and read my email - am doing that right now.Evening is the hardest time for me. I get distracted or I doze off while reading, and then I need to go down and do my

Vest before dinner etc. I would ADORE to reach the point where I only did it once daily!WAY more than you probably wanted to know about my daily routine!!!!Suzanne
