Hi Lee,

The Nexium is an another ingredient in Vimovo which is a new anti-inflammatory drug for those of us with sensitive stomachs and I haven't tried it yet.

I have been on a daily dose of Protoix for a few years and it is very effective. You may want to ask your doctor about it.

I have gained weight around my middle, however it is from junk food.......not my meds.

Eileen, I was reading the directions on the bottle this morning and it concerns me about starting this without contacting my Doctor. I am on Hydroxchloroquine. The RA Doctor wanted to put me on prednesone but the lung Doctor said no. I am having a lot of pain in my fingers today, some are swelled up a lot. My lung Doctor said because of the conditions my lungs are in I am very limited to what drugs I can take. I am going to try and reach him tomorrow. I am also looking for a RA Doctor closer to where I live. I have only seen one RA Doctor and that was at the Mayo Clinic. I really didn't care for him, he didn't explain nothing to me or didn't seem concerned. He told me to come back when I made appointments to see my other Doctors at the clinic. I did have ex-rays done and that showed I had RA in the fingers, wrist and

elbows. I couldn't believe this could hit me over night. `My left arm is worse than my right. One day I couldn't get my left arm above my waist I have trouble waking up in the night with pain and then I can't go back to sleep for hours. I have been taking the fish oil tablets too. I was hoping that would help with the Sinus problems. Please take care and reply when you get an extra minute. Joy L

Hi Joy,

I also had to stop the Krill Oil which also helps reduce joint pain. In addition I take 7000 units of Fish Oil daily which I also had to stop. I don't know if Fish Oil also helps with joint pain, but I do know that it keeps my triglycerides down to a low of 114. My Primary stated that very few people have such a low number.

Protonix is what my gastroenterologist prescribed for me from the start of my acid reflux symptoms. It was a huge help and stopped my symptoms. The active ingredient in Nexium bothered me greatly when I took the prescription strength my internist prescribed. The GI said it can do that, so if you have any trouble with it, be sure to switch to another PPI.

Hi Lee,

The Nexium is an another ingredient in Vimovo which is a new anti-inflammatory drug. I need this medication to treat my arthritis and tennis elbow pain/inflammation which should be for a short course (I hope). I can not use any other non-steroidal drug because it flares up my hiatus hernia. I will continue the Protonix for as long as it is helpful.

Looked up about vimovo and it should be used short term due to the problems with heart side effects. Gee we would go from one problem to another with some of these drugs hey.xx LeeTo: bronchiectasis Sent: Thursday, 26 May 2011 2:52 AMSubject: Re: Re: [bronchiectasis (Lee)

Thanks for that information. If it doesn't help the inflamation with short term use, then I wouldn't consider it effective anyway.
