I don't think a few high numbers will effect your A1c very much. If your doctor does want you to go on meds, please remind him/her of the Prednisone. Three more months will not make that much of a difference between being on meds and not. I think your doctor will work with you. Guest guest
That is great Shirley. You are well on your way to controlling your bg's. Keep up the good work. Whew! : Well, the Prednisone week is OVER. Whew! I feel MUCH better and the poison : oak is almost gone... no itching left. My bgs were higher this week, : definitely! But I ate less carbs than usual and tried to stay very active to : offset those high numbers. Actually my doctor and I were very surprised that : it did not go over 168 at the highest during the whole week. But it did go : up significantly each time I would eat and on the first couple of days when : my dosage was so high. : : I hope it doesn't affect my A1c next Thursday but if it does, it does. I : know that I have worked very hard to get it down and when I have another one : right before Thanksgiving, maybe that one will be even lower. : : Someone on here the other day had a 5.0 and I can't remember who it was... I : was wondering what in the world you eat. 5.0 is so perfect but to have : that I personally would have to either go on meds or eat almost nothing... : including carbs, and that's not an option. How did you do it and how many : carb servings a day do you eat? : : Since I have been off salt for 15 weeks, my feet are so much smaller. Losing : weight helps with that too... but ya know, I must have fat feet because when : I lose weight everywhere else, my feet get small too. I was a 9 when I : started and am now a 7 1/2. : : I HAD FAT FEET! : : But they are getting skinnier. Actually I think some of it is the lack : of salt in my diet and my blood pressure being normal again. They do not : swell like they used to do and it is so nice to have ankles again. : : Well, I'm gonna go. What a quiet weekend on here it has been. : : Thanks! : : Shirley : : :
