No one has done such things as epidural steroid injections for pain by any chance? I would think these are totally contraindicated? Guest guest
Wow, . You have a great pain mgt doc to have such equipment! Our NSG said he could put in a labor epidural (we were talking down the road...pls G-d, way down the road LOL, for pregnancy) but he wouldn't allow anyone else to if he were our dtr! Guest guest
There may be a chiropractor in Saint louis that uses it. Certainly seems it can't hurt and many seem to find benefit. Continued good luck!!! Randee Re: injections for pain?? > > > > > >I did, my surgeon's office suggested I find a pain management doctor. He did 2 of these on me before I found out from my surgeon that it's not a good idea. They can cause more damage and the risk is not worth it. I got worse after the second one. Guest guest
Omg yes Dr. Lepis is amazing here in NJ has his own surgery center works hand and hand with my Neuro like on the phone game plans etc. What most of us don't realize is besides our tethered cord pain due to us walking bad and poor posture we compensate and strain and inflame other muscles and joints and even bones. For ex: rt now he's treating me or facet joint problems bersitius of the hips si joint inflammation and a bunch of other things in that area. My neuro agrees with him that all that pain is actually what's hurting me and does not really get better with rest or narcs. So My pain management does everything under local and he does a lot of injections of steroids muscle relaxers even antibiotics and if needed can laser off problem areas all at the same time all directly at the site that's most inflamed kinda like trigger points you could say but you never feel it cause your asleep and there's no stitches or scars everything is the size of the tip of a pencil, and then those few hours after surgery that people say are horrible not with him he always puts in this long lasting numbing agent that makes your legs really your hips down feel like jello and numb so you can go home relax and not move till you feel steady. Then the rest of the day you just do light walking and the next week it's all light lifghting but I've never had a procedure done yet that I haven't had relief the next day! I've even gone a year without tsc pain even though I'm currently retethered, all my pain was from the other things I aggravated trying to comensate for the issues that the tsc was causeing. So yes if you can find a real pain management Dr like mine who treats all your real pain causing problems you guys will be amazed how much pain is not from tsc but actually all the surrounding areas are. Then the tsc is way more manageable and at way lower doses of pain meds or even just break thru meds he really has saved my life and is currently doing it again as I prep for another detethering and a fusion of my c1-c2 or chiari as well as another surgery to help with some of my EDS pain. Oh and my Neuro is Dr. in Bethesda land but he's worth the 4 hr drive cause Neuro in NJ suck! And the ones in NY messed me up and Dr. rebuilds the bone and stuff after surgeries so Its healthier and less chance of slipped disks or herniated he said. And had proven material so I thinks that's pretty awesome then having half a disc and walking around waiting for the worst if your ever hurt in a accident or worse. So sorry it was Long but Dr. Lepis in Wall NJ is the best Pain Management Dr ever! Dr. F. in Bethesda lad This message was sent from s' iPhone. Apologies if it does not format corectly. > Wow, . Guest guest
...I just pray we have the same success. My daughter is scheduled to see Dr. Swarm at Washington U in Saint Louis. Is Dr. Lepis also an anesthesiologist or an interventional radiologist? You are so fortunate to have found him!!! Randee Re: injections for pain?? > > I've had them with no luck.
