Hello all of you,

I´m kind of new here (suffering from Vulvodynia off course...) and I sure

would like to introduce myself later, but right now I just want to respond

to this question;

> Hi,

> Is Diflucan an antifungal which could then cause this lacto overgrowth? I'm

taking Diflucan once evry three days but am woried about the long lasting

effects or it making me worse after making me better. Any Help? Kimberlee

I recently joined a Vulvodynia-group here in Copenhagen, Denmark, and was

surprised to hear that most of the members (including myself) have been

treated with antifungals several times (especially Diflucan), and that

there might be a connection between the treatments and their

vulvodynia-problems. Most of them have also been tested HPV (Human

Papillion Virus) positive, without ever having anything actually SEEN in

the area (what we call " invisible HPV " ). Apparently HPV is not nescesarily

a sexually transmitted disease, some people are born with it -and it might

have a connection to Vulvodynia.

Finally many of us suffer from what seems to be bladderinfections, or at

least the same symptoms.

Good luck to all of you, at the moment I´m having almost no troubles

with my Vulvodynia (for no special reason), and it might happen to you

to...

Best wishes,

Naja (Denmark)
