Hi Marsha,

Welcome to the group. I am sorry about your diagnosis.

This group is great in that you learn so much from others as well as you feel less isolated. It is definitely a life-changing disease.

It sounds like you still enjoy your life, get out, and stay active. Good for you.

I am 64 and a grandma of only one. I am hoping for more grandchildren as my son was recently married. I am a widow as of 6 years and I was diagnosed with this 6 years ago ,although I probably had it since 2001/02. This site has really helped me.

Thank you for approving my request to join your group. I am a 65 year old grandmother (14 grandkids) and I was diagnosed with Bronchiectasis 3 years ago. I am still very active. My husband and I travel quite a bit on our Honda Goldwing motorcycle. We are from the San Diego area but we have crossed the US on a few occasions on the Goldwing. It is great fun for us.

We are retired now but prior to that we lived in Mexico City for a few years and then Riyadh, Saudi Arabia after that. We then returned home to So. California.

I am anxious to read your old and new articles since there seems to be so little mainstream information on Bronchiectasis. Thanks again for allowing me in!

I want to thank everyone for their stories.  It has really given me a lot to

think about.  I go to the doctors tomorrow to pick a date for the surgery and

give me the results of the MRI of the brain, t & c-spine.  This whole thing is

very scary for me!!   My doctor, I'm told, is the best doctor in the New England

area so I feel pretty good about her.  I was against the operation until my legs

started getting weak and shakey.  I went to the beach we always go to for the

1st time this summer and it has a little hill and I almost couldn't make it up

it.  Then my legs were dead for the rest of the day.  My big toe is half numb

and the last 2 days it is moving a little down my foot.  I've decided to have

the surgery to pervent more damage and I hope it hasn't done too much damage

already and I will get my strength back in my legs.    Thanks for listening and

keep your comments suggestions and stories coming

Terry
