The first steps are pretty easy really. You just set up an appointement

with the local SS office, and they ask you their questions and give you

the forms to fill out. It took me a little while to fill out the forms

(mostly because I had to look up all my work history etc.). Then send

them in, and you get a response back in a while... I forget how long

exactly, but it was a couple months or so. Then if they deny you, you

fill out a few more forms (not as hard as the first set to fill out) and

send those in. They are reviewed by a different person, and you recieve

a response, again within a few months. I think if you're denied that

time, you generally would get an attorney, and appear before a judge...

I haven't gotten to that point yet (hopefully never do) so I don't know

as much about it yet. Hope that helps!

My mom taught on and off throughout my childhood, and while she wasn't

teaching in a school she was home schooling me and my siblings a lot of

the time. I guess she's been teaching full time for nearly twenty years

now though. Some grade school, some high school, and even a little

college.

Hi Everyone,

I found out this week that I was denied disability. I am going to dispute it of

course. Does anyone have any suggestions? I could sure use some advice.

Thanks,

Kellie
