Guest guest
Hi Kathy Sorry, I didn't explain myself very well. What I meant by the 2nd time around is that there are some parents on here that had a plagio baby with baby #1 so when baby #2 came they knew all about plagio and would have been paying extra attention to ensure that it didn't happen again but it did. That was something that really made me feel better (and I am truly sorry for the parents that had to do this all a 2nd time around and I do not mean to offend anyone with this comment). When I first found out that Jordi had plagio I blamed myself. Jordi is baby #2 for me so I had thought that he was likely sitting in his bouncy chair more, etc. since I was trying to deal with my 3 yr old daughter. After talking to many of the parents on here and learning more about plagio I realized that it wasn't my fault and that I was being way too hard on myself. As mentioned, we always thought Jordi's head was a little off right from birth but once he was diagnosed I still thought it was my fault. Months later I looked at some pictures fom the birth and noticed that right from birth his head was mishapen. I also breastfed Jordi so when I thought about how much time I was holding him and feeding, etc...I knew that I hadn't just let him " sit around " to cause this. I think when you first hear the diagnosis you blame yourself for letting this happen to your baby but after learning about it you will know for sure that you were not the cause. I hope this helps you more. try not to feel down. I always think to myself....this could be way worse...there are people out there dealing with heart and kidney problems, etc...with their babies. This is something to deal with but there is a remedy and its a painless one for our babes! Be thankful. The treatment is really not that bad and it will be over before you know it too. Believe me, Jordi's 4 months in the band have flown by. We also did repositioning for 4 months too so I've been dealing with his plagio 24hrs/day since his diagnosis in February. It really has flown by!! hang in there!! You have tonnes of support here!! Carolyn > > Hi all, > > I am new to this process and only had my initial consultation with > CT > > last week.
