Guest guest
A bit off topic but let's lighten up a bit. I put this out on my Hi Fi/ music site recently. I think it's fab, and some of you might like it too. In this video they are dancing Lindy Hop to Rock n' Roll music. When Rock n' Roll first came out it was a bit too fast for lindy - which was normally danced to big band jazz -so they simplified it down to the Rock n' Roll style of dance leaving out the 8 beat moves (which are the 360 degree turns - the men and women change positions then swap 180 degrees back again getting to where they originally were). But just look at these lindy hoppers go wild to that amazing energetic Rock n' Roll music - simply stunning stuff. I love lindy hop. Guest guest
That looks like so much fun! I just love the fluid footwork - looks so effortless. You must get great joy out of dancing like this Kaivey. Thanks for sharing! Now when do we get to see a video of you in motion? Cheers Kate > > > A bit off topic but let's lighten up a bit. Guest guest
Lindy is a fabulous dance. That video, , reminds me of a few years back where dancers would descend on a London train station and then suddenly at noon they would all break out into dancing. There was no music and any style of dancing was allowed. So if a station had say over a thousand poeple in, or or more, then all at the time about 50 to 10o people might spontaneoulsy break out into dancing. Great fun. Guest guest
I saw some video footage once of me doing Lindy Hop and I was a little bit dissapointed. Still, it feels good, though, and is great fun. But do you know, I actually do think I could get as good as some of those guys. Both my mum and dad were amateur dancers but they got their bronze and silver certificates/medals. People said that my mum should go professional but my dad lost interest after he maried her. One day my mum told me that my dad was the only one who would get up and do the Charlsten, and no one knew where he had learnt it from. It was weird because I had been doing the Charlsten for about a year when she told me that. Thanks for watching the video. And wow, those dancers were fab weren't they? I reckon the best I have seen.
