Guest guest
Hi Everyone...don't know if you remember me, I was on the list a few months back.... I was sad to see that there IS still a list...hoping you all got cured My latest...I went to see my OB/Gyn for my yearly...this is the first time I have seen him, besides my pregnancy..During my pregnancy, he did an internal, the first pregnancy visit, but at that time I hadn't gone into details about my situation, just grinned and bared it...really wasn't grinning..that was the first time I had seen him...anyway, over the course of my pregnancy, I told him about my situation...he agreed to do a C-Section and was very supportive of that decision...I was really relieved and vowed that after the whole pregnancy thing was over, I would see him and give him the whole lurid story and see what he thought....Okay, if you are still reading: I saw him this week...I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and I take a ton of stuff, major antiinflammatories such as Prednisone, Methotrexate, etc.. I believe that these drugs HAVE reduced the inflammation in that area, but, of course, I still can't have intercourse, and have pain, etc...So when I went to see him, I wasn't at my worst, plus I took two Percocets before I went...anyway....He said my vulva looks fine and when he was touching the area, I had no pain...he then look around the top of the vaginal wall and pressed around, OUCH! He kept pulling the speculum towards that area to see exactly where it hurt and I guess to see if it hurt in the same spot everytime...He said it looked like I had " diverticulums " in my urethra..I guess these are sort of like " sacs " he said that it is not unusual to have lumps and bumps up there but that these two kind of stood out and obviously are symptomatic... To make a long story short (!) He is sending me in for a " Urethragram " they inject die into the urethra....Anyone ever hear of this and if so, can you tell me exactly how it is done! I can tell you I am sort of freaking out about the thought of it......He said if they are diverticulums than minor surgery would be the answer and even if they aren't, and are just lumps, than they need to be removed....I know all about the vulvodynia surgery horror stories and told him that..he said this has nothing to do with vulvodynia...So, what do you all think??? Sorry this is so long......hope someone out there knows something! Thanks, Kathy
