Guest guest
Hi , I don't know if it is related, but I also have fairly moderate acne. I have tried just about everything for it, but if anything I would think that the acne complicated the vv instead of the other way around. I took Tetracycline, and then Milicycline for quite a while, and then I took Accutane. Neither one did my vulva any favors:). I have also been diagnosed with Irritable Bowel syndrome. Unlike many wemon who have IBS, I have more trouble with the constipation then the diareha. I have to take Peri colace daily and I STILL am constipated. So I feel for Mindy. I've tryed fiber con and Metamucil and citracil. None of that does any good any more. I'm pretty sure the IBS is related to the vv. Good luck with the Gastro ----Original Message Follows---- From: MJLangfus@... Reply-To: VulvarDisorders To: VulvarDisorders Subject: Acne, Bowels, & VV Date: Mon, 16 Apr 2001 17:06:38 EDT Hey, here again as Mindy. Wanted to ask if anyone out there has severe acne problems? Mindy drinks a good 3-4 large bottles of water every day and tends to break out uncontrollably all the time. She is not on any medicine other than BC (orthotrycline), and has only been on that tops 3 months. Does anyone else have similar problems resulting from VV? One possible reason, which I'm curious if anyone else suffers from -- Mindy's colon is severely backed up, she's lucky if she has one bowel movement a day, and sometimes only one or two movements a week (more often than not, actually...). When she does have them, her stomach cramps like crazy after. Like I said above though, Mindy drinks a ton of water, and she doesn't really eat all too much she shouldn't. We eat much the same things, and I'm quite regular, 2-3 times a day. Again, there really isn't medicine blocking all this. Does anyone out there have similar problems? I've got Mindy to make an appointment with a gastro, but that isn't for a couple of weeks yet. I also am trying to get her in to have colonic hydrotherapy, but I imagine it might be a good idea to wait til we see the gastro, and Dr. later this month. Mindy adds the obgyn was doing an ultrasound last week and could barely see her left ovary through the, er, blockage... _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
Guest guest
Acne can often be the result of toxic bowels...I have experienced this too, though not too bad. It is important for her to be on a good fiber product, psyllium husks, or flax seed meal, better yet combo of both, with lots of water...this seems to work with most difficult cases(like me), taken at night, or around 7:30-8:30. Magnesium taken at night is essential, this helped my constipation tremendously, but shouldn't rely on this alone if you have a tough case..she should start with 300mg at night, and go up until she sees results...usually for tough cases 700-900mg does the trick, though I know others who need more....Good luck...Jackie
Guest guest
, I too have acne probs. I am finishing up my Accutane treatment. I was on the birth control pill previously for acne, amongst other things. I don't relate any pain to my acne treatments, although who knows? -- --- MJLangfus@... wrote: > > Hey, here again as Mindy. > > Wanted to ask if anyone out there has severe acne > problems?
