Guest guest
hi Norma, - the injectable form is Tobra - which is the only form available to us in Aus. I'm prescribed equal parts Tobra and normal saline, but apparently can be used without saline. From what one respiratory dr told me, it may be more effective diluted - sounds wrong I know... he explained there are more droplets to 'carry' the medication if used with saline (no matter what the medication is). but well, I'm not a doctor! I do find what others discuss on this site is useful, to discuss with my dr when have appts. also- if can't find your usual mucolytic neb (thins mucus) have you tried, can you obtain saline around 3 -6% higher. Works for many people. Could you ask your dr about using it? forgive me if I've repeated myself, I know this topic comes up a bit, but sometimes it's finding that one bit of info that makes a change possible... good luck joy h
Guest guest
Hi Norma,Diluting Tobra with saline lowers the viscosity which allows better atomization, smaller droplets. Which means you get more medicine into your lungs. hi Norma, - the injectable form is Tobra - which is the only form available to us in Aus.
