Guest guest
hi Kay, I use soy milk in coffee (or chai tea) if feel need other than my usual black coffee (no sugar, not even honey now due to dentist having a near-fit at my honey consumption - shame not enough to lose any weight!). So many of the things you mention re diet strike a cord - feel I've been lucky to actually like 'goody' foods - have had breakfast of muesli w/ dried frt and non-dairy milk with lecithin and other stuff such as LSA for decades, apart from living in SE Asia for a time. Anything low GI-index is probably a good guide for good diet w/ bronch, cheers joy
Guest guest
Milk, Cream, Half & Half, all of these made coffee taste better, but I definitely found that mucus built up faster. For a bronchi like myself this wasn’t good, so I had to find a substitute. A lemon peal is typically serviced on the side with espresso in Italian restaurants so I tried it and it tastes great. A now enjoy my tall black with a slice of lemon. An additional benefit is if you’re like me and sometimes get busy and allow the coffee to cool down, the dairy would form a skin atop the coffee, yuck. The lemon doesn’t do this and is great with iced coffee too. Give it a try From: adele Sent: Friday, July 13, 2012 1:38 AM To: bronchiectasis Subject: Re: diet / bronch hi Kay,I use soy milk in coffee (or chai tea) if feel need other than my usual black coffee (no sugar, not even honey now due to dentist having a near-fit at my honey consumption - shame not enough to lose any weight!).So many of the things you mention re diet strike a cord - feel I've been lucky to actually like 'goody' foods - have had breakfast of muesli w/ dried frt and non-dairy milk with lecithin and other stuff such as LSA for decades, apart from living in SE Asia for a time.Anything low GI-index is probably a good guide for good diet w/ bronch, cheersjoy
Guest guest
Wow, Leon, that's fascinating... gotta try it! Certainly healthy. Being of Northern European descent and growing up on milk, it has never given me any trouble, but I know it's not supposed to be very healthy for adults. My 93 year old aunt and 90 year old dad both use milk, especially my aunt who drinks a lot, and don't have problems. I suspect it's a very individual issue. They are both English. Thanks for the neat idea.
