Guest guest
A one-minute wish list prioritized and sent to Schweitzer could help all of us get through this better and faster. See below. I know for a fact that important decisionmakers want to help.----- Forwarded Message ----To: "ecoartist1@..." Sent: Sun, January 9, 2011 8:15:07 AMSubject: Your Help in Needed for the NIH Workshop on ME/CFS ME-CFSCommunity.com A message to all members of ME-CFSCommunity.com The NIH workshop in April is designed to prime the pump for research funding on ME/CFS by educating other agencies within NIH and scientists who might be helpful. However, none of these folks know a thing about ME/CFS except what they've been reading lately about the XMRV retrovirus. Now that we in the patient community are finally being heard, we'd like to share information about other biological abnormalities, problems, dilemmas, etc. The workshop format will have a panel chaired by someone knowledgeable about The Disease, with outside scientists and NIH decisionmakers on the panel. There will be a presentation, then brainstorming. Schweitzer, who is on the program committee representing patients along with Pat Fero and Ken Freidman, is soliciting yourinput. To spare her total information overload, she would like your response to three questions. 1. If there was only one topic covered, whatwould you want it to be (besides XMRV)? 2. We need experts on various aspects of TheDisease. Dennis Mangan at NIH, who isrunning this show, has done a good job, but we could use some more. All suggestions welcomed. 3. If only one thing came out of thisconference, what would you want it to be? You can put answers HERE or write her privately. She'll then do her best to compile the results and bring them to the committee (via email). There's not much time - the program must be finished in two weeks.
