Guest guest
I agree. I've been on the 'net long enough in various forms on a wide range of topics. I've learned to have a thick skin, never take anything personally (unless it really IS directed at you), and speak your mind freely. One rule of thumb I try to go by is this: if you had the person to whom you are replying sitting across the table from you, would you still say the same thing to their face as you would typing in the message? If the answer is yes, then go for it! It only takes 15 seconds to skip over OT messages.... 5 seconds to visually scan them, and 10 seconds to tick them off and hit the delete button It takes a lot longer to argue about whether or not there should be OT messages. I'd rather dredge thru a list of OT messages where I can learn something and have a laugh, then to have a bland, boring on-topic-only list Peace. ~ Liana ~ Subject: O/T SUBJECTSTo: bronchiectasis Date: Monday, February 20, 2012, 10:57 AM I feel if someone has a sensitive nature, it is best for them to pass on the O/T emails. Not all of us can be diplomatic at all times, and if we have an opinion, we should be able to express it honestly. I admire very much Liana's writing abilities, however I am not so gifted. I learn a lot from our group and feel it should not be censored in any way. The O/T heading plus the Subject we are addressing, should be enough and we should not have to walk on eggshells.
