Judy in MN Re - inhaled antibiotic, Colistin picking up from an old message - yes, inhaled abx can most definitely cause thrush, sore throat, dry mouth etc. I used Fungilin lozenges a lot when I was doing neb abx, this did help. I still slowly suck on the Fungilin lozenges when on IV abx, and during night seems to prevent my mouth drying out so badly, with the resultant mouth blisters and ulcers,be aware any abx will up the chances of fungal 'opportunism', so I've found it good to have the lozenges on hand, and haven't needed the heavier fungal meds to clear what eventually becomes systemic infx (viz. fungal, usually Candidia albicans.)cheersjoy Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
