Guest guest
For those of you considering Dr. Batzdorf at UCLA, he is an expert in Chiari - please do not let one person's opinion sway you from seeking his care. He never once discounted any of my symptoms as not being from Chiari, and he never once said anything against the other doctors. Guest guest
I would like to say something for the New ones in the group... Please do not let anyone's opinion of a doctor scare you. We all have different opinions and relate differently and the dr. that may be the greatest thing since sliced bread for you may not be worthy of treating my dog to me. We are all intelligent (well most of us anyways) or we would not be here seeking information and support. We should be smart enough to weigh all we hear, good and bad and then make an intelligent decision. I for one want to know the good and the bad and then make my own judgements. But please, if you think one Dr. is great, you and he have a great rapore and someone tells you something terrible about that dr....go with your gut feelings. If you are comfortable and secure with him, and see no malpractice or neglect from him then by all means stay with him....And another thing, if someone says that a particular NSG did something not exactly considerd correct, that does not question his ability as a neurosurgeon.... I hope this helped calm some of the fears .... Love, Hugs and Prayers, Haydee (Nana to , 8 years old w/Spina Bifida, ACM II, Hydrocephalus w/VP Shunt, Syringomyelia w/Syrinx @ c1-c2, G-Tube Fed (totally NPO), Swallowing Coordination Disorder, Neurogenic Bladder, ARDS (Lung failure) 3/30/97, 33 days on ECMO (total Lung bypass), 60 days on Life Support, Humidified Oxygen Dependent, Radical Trachestomy w/total Loss of Vocal Cord Use, Paralyzed from the Waist Down, 18 surgeries, Asthma, Severe Latex Allergy, Allergies to many Medications, Adhesives, and tons of other stuff, With Such a Wonderful Love of Life and one crazzzzy Nana living right outside BatonRouge, Louisiana, Posterior Fossa Decompression, Opening of the Dura, (No Graft), and c1-c2 Laminectmy, March 2, 1999...so far so good and getting better and stronger everyday!!!)
