Guest guest
I wonder if any one has heard that milk thistle should not be taken on it own? Yesterday when I tol my doctor that I was taking milk thistle she told me I should take it as a mixture with other herbs and not on it own as it causes arthritis symptoms and apparently only reaches one level of the liver and therefore the liver is not able to get rid of all the acids from the body. She prepared a mixture of dandalion, St. mary's thistle, barberry and schiandra for me and said I should take it twice a day. Does anyone knows if this could be the case with herbs? Now I am a bit concerned about taking herbs on it own as I could be doing more damage to my body . Any comment would be appreciated. Guest guest
My acupuncturist says for certain people undergoing treatment milk thistle can weaken the whole energy balance/homeostasis recovery process. The most skilled Chinese Medicine practitioner can tell from pulse reading what herbs will calm the liver and emotions, and tonify it, and what will weaken or drain it when strength and tonification are really what is needed. To: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism Sent: Mon, February 14, 2011 5:36:39 PMSubject: Milk thistle I wonder if any one has heard that milk thistle should not be taken on it own? Guest guest
For me, the answer is easy. I feel better when I take milk thistle and feel more tired when I don't. We have been taking it for years. On days when I feel especially bad, I take 4 times my usual amount, and then I feel better as well. So, it is working for me without a doubt.
