Guest guest
I have taken 6 a day for years with no side effects. It's a seaweed. The Japanese eat seaweed daily. I am not sure how this seaweed compares, but it seems more like a " healing food " to me, than a herb. It does make us all do better, but the problem with it is that it doesn't seem to have any lasting effects. In other words, yes, we have less symptoms on it, but when we stop it, the symptoms return. Therefore, it didn't cause any permanent changes for us, but does work amazing wonders towards reducing symptoms if taken daily. It feels like it keeps the nerves and cells happy. It must be making them work better. It makes such a big difference that if we would have had to do the journey without it, it would have been a much worse experience. Love and prayers, Heidi N Heidi or any other member who has used Modifilan would you please advice me how many capsules is the maximun to take daily. I took 6 this morning as soon as got up and today I have had a terrific day, very energetic and feeling good in general. Is it 6 too many/enough or money can be taken? Thanks for your comments.Olga Olga
Guest guest
Does any one know if Modifilan is the same as Algin which is sodium alginate(from brown seawead)? Tammy F. Guest guest
Heidi, What you are saying is quite true. I took another 6 capsules this morning and it make feel so good that I will continue taking them for as long as possible as this is something I was looking for. I used to take 3 capsules a day but I din't see any difference but once I started taking 6 caps. I could see the huge change, so 6 is the way to go for me. It is good to know that you have not had any side effect as it is something that worries me, but it is obvious that it is safe to take. Now I would like to give it to my boys and I would like to know how many caps. do you think I shoud give to them ? they are 10 and 11. Thanks for your advice. Guest guest
Modifilan does have alginates. I have tried several different seaweeds, and each one gave us different effects. I always went back to Modifilan because it seemed to work the best. I also tried straight algin before, but I still like the Modifilan better. The algin/alginates did effect me similar to the Modifilan. Love and prayers, Heidi N > > Does any one know if Modifilan is the same as Algin which is sodium > alginate(from brown seawead)? Guest guest
I had one that age that took 2 caps, twice a day. He had chronic symptoms of migraines, nigh-sweating, anxiety, etc. Anyhow, he has been off of everything, eating junk-food, and symptom-free now for about a year. I have another that I think is close to coming off of treatments. The rest, no way at this moment in time. I even have one that recently worsened. It also sounds like a good source of thyroid protecting elements, I am interested in that!BlessingsIsaEnviado desde mi oficina móvil BlackBerry® de TelcelSender: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism Date: Fri, 11 Feb 2011 23:47:49 -0000To: <BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism >ReplyTo: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism Subject: Re: MODIFILAN I had one that age that took 2 caps, twice a day. Guest guest
My experience makes me believe that it likely mops up current loosened toxins. I don't think it will chelate toxins from the cells in an appreciable manner. It also seems to help my thyroid. My best guess is that it probably binds to the toxins that disrupt the thyroid absorbing the chemical signals it needs to work correctly. With Lyme and with autism and some of the other chronic conditions, there is a real problem handling the daily toxin exposures. I think that is where Modifilan helps out. Also, when toxins are loosened by chelators, Modifilan probably helps mop them up. When we take it with meals and other supplements, it doesn't appear to affect it. So, I am thinking that it knows the difference between absorbing food and toxins. But, medicines appear as toxins in the body, so when one takes a medicine, then you will need to consult with your doctor. We took antibiotics away from it, like at least 4 hours a way. It also reportedly has effects against viruses and helps with inflammation. It helps when I am herxing. It also has vitamins and minerals. Got to love herbs and healing foods, since they help in several ways. I do not notice it helping unless I am on a high enough dose. I took 3 pills twice a day for years. I am well enough now to only take 2 pills twice a day, and that is probably only due to me being on other things for toxins. Love and prayers, Heidi N > > Is there a consensus on why Modifilan works? Guest guest
Thanks Heidi, I will try that dose on both of them. My older boy suffers from night sweat and occasionaly anxiety so hopefully this will help him. Neither of my boys take supplements on weekends to give their body a break and they cope very well(I think they do better) and very soon I will start stopping all supplements one week per month to see how they go. Sometimes I think that I got so use to the routine to give them those supplements everyday that it is hard to stop, but I have to try to minimize them and concentrate more in homeopathy as my older son does very well on it. I am also trying to use more foods rather than supplements as I think the body may get sicker and not being able to cope after taking them for a long period of time, I noticed that on myself, so know I understand why the kids react in a negative way sometimes. Guest guest
Olga, I too give my son a supplement break every Saturday. He takes a single dose of Zithromax every Friday after dinner. After that I stop giving him supplements until Sunday morning. (I do still use digestive enzymes and probiotics throughout.) I will try to give him a supplement break for 2 days weekly. Guest guest
I read a great mold illness book a while back that mentioned modifilan along with Limu Moi a drink with the same seaweed in it. Anyone else hear of Limu Moi? My only concern with modifilan has been oxalates. What do you think about he oxalates issue with seaweeds Heidi? It sounds like a good detoxifier. Interesting there's no long lasting side effects, like curative. jenib > > > > Does any one know if Modifilan is the same as Algin which is sodium > > alginate(from brown seawead)? Guest guest
Limin, I think it is a very good idea to take breaks from supplements specially for our kids as their body have been on so many supplements since they were very young. My 11 years old has improved greatly in spelling since I started giving him Gingko and Vinpocentine together and also since he started 3 capsules of Culturelle before bed. Even when he does not take them on weekends he still continues doing well. I have also started him on a homeopathic remedy by Deseret Biologics called BACTERIA (it has many strains in it Lyme, strep, staph, Micoplasma and others) and I think is doing a lot of good to him too. It has taken him such a long time to achieve the things that he is doing now, because I never wanted to do/give him too many things at once, but the important thing is that he is doing them now and it does not matter how long we have to go on with the treatment to achieve full recovery as long as he is a happy kid and does not complaint that the supplements are making him sick. He has learnt to know his body and tells me when something does not agree with him or when something make him feel good and that is great to know as it gives me an indication of when I should continue something or not. Guest guest
Someone said: Modifilan only makes me feel better while I'm on it but has no lasting effect when stopped. I would argue that such a benefit is profoundly valuable. If you can feel good while detoxing and getting metals out, it could make months or years of your life more bearable while at the same time using the big guns to get the junk out. And if it really is making you feel better, chances are it IS doing something lasting, that is, mopping up metals in the gut. Maybe only mopping them up a little bit, but if it is enough to accelerate the process by 5% and also make you feel good while doing it, that seems like a win. Guest guest
I think it is absorbing toxic bile from digestion. I read a great book recently that uses beans to do this very same thing. Lots of beans and no sugar. Many are cured of their crohn's, arthritis and colits with this treatment in a month. The book is " They Said It Wasn't Possible " by Hurd. Great way to look at the role of soluable fiber in removing toxins. She has a website too. Her daughter was poisioned by pesticides and given only a year to live. The beans cured her. This is what I think these algins, apple pectin, psyllium, beans and clays are doing. The beans are really cheap and my son is doing really well with it. The yellow tinge to his skin is finally gone after almost 3 years of biomed. Just imagine how many beans people used to eat in the past? they are dried, keep very well during the winter months and are a great source of protein for the poor. The reason she says many react to beans is the toxic bile finally being pulled out through the intestines, fermenting instead of being digested properly.
