Guest guest
Hi Tony, When the pharmacy where I had been ordering Acetylcsteine for ten years told me that they could no longer order it, I called my pulmonologist's office. The nurse told me to check with all the pharmacies in the area to see it they had any on their shelf. I have been able to find enough to get me through about six months. After I cannot locate any more, I have a prescription for hypertonic saline. You can call some pharmacies and they can locate it for you at their other pharmacies in the area. Walgreens did that for me. I got some from CVS but did not ask if they could check the availability of it at their other pharmacies in the area. When I was in the hospital with pseudomonas pneumonia in August, they did not have it. Since I am on Medicare, they transferred me to a nursing home for three more weeks of iv antibiotic therapy. They had Acetylcsteine there but ran out of it the last day I was there. I am sure it is due to the fact that there is not enough demand for it so it is not worth while to make it. I hope you can find some like I did. Norma
