>>It is my understanding that DHEA is generally recommended for men,

and pregnenolone for women.<<

Recommended by who? I have not seen anyone (and I tlk to primarily females )

that did improve on Pregnenolone. Myself I did wonderful on DHEA but now get

acne fro it so I believe I have enough now where I was deficient before. I am a

huge proponent of DHEA when appropriate but you need labs to knwo this. Ad then

only take reasonable doses. If very deficient I think even women can take 25MG a

dya. I took up to 200MG a dya with no bad effects and took that much for over 6

months. But then i started to have acne like breakouts, and slowly lowered it to

now I take none. Pregnenolone makes me TIRED. I even gave som to my cats after

readoing all the great things where it is promoted. Mind you thta are ALL

neutered.. One male started trying to mate all the others, one female went into

nesting mode dragging my clothes under the bed to make her nest which she then

defended from the others another it did nothign for and the last one became

aggressive to the other cats.. I would say this was a sure sign it becomes sex

hormones !

Dhea converts into Testosterone among other things.

Both DHEA in its DHEA form AND after it converts into

Testosterone SUPPRESS Cortisol.

There is a fine balance that needs to be maintained

between Testosterone and Cortisol.

No I do not believe a 30MG a day dose means meds for life. I am proof that isn't

so! I was on 20MG a day for 8 months and then went to 30MG for another 10 months

and was able to heal my adrenals and taper off. BUT I did not test before

starting HC, and my adrenal symptoms were not horrible so I probably was o5 in

the state yours are in. I do not feel it is the dose as much as the state your

adrenals are in that risks the permanent suppression. Yes low blood pressure is

from adrenal fatigue as the adrenals also control your body's retention or loss

of sodium and fluid balance.

How long have you been off HC, Val? Have you had dealt with any stress

since being off? Are you still taking Armour sublingual or bucally?

I have been off it almost 2 months. Well stress, let's see, I fell and hurt my

knees, went on TWO long trips, one driving from WV to Chicago, the other flying

to Colorado. Both trips were easy and required no HC stress doing but the

Chicago one I did get worn out from. Had slight problems with time adjustments

coming back from CO. Now I am dealing with 2 discs in my neck trying to fuse

and am seeing a Chiro three times a week and my left hand is 1/2 numb. I take my

Armour sublingually, and swallow my T3 meds. Also just sent out Canary Club

labs this past week which should tell the tale! I will post results as soon as I

get them back.
