Thanks

kinda stumped it seems like BHT and transfer factor addresses viral better than toxo....found this interesting article on BHT as it was new to me (can anyone keep all this stuff straight?!)

http://www.advance-health.com/bht.html

but BHT sounds like a good ticket for me! if you happen to find that bottle let me know, toxo is a biggy in our picture.

What Mike was taking was bovine gamma globulin, not transfer factor. As for the BHT, it was probably killing several things. BHT kills mycoplasma in animals. Mike's immune system was failing, his platelet count had dropped from 250,000 to just over 100,000, which is pretty bad. All I know is that his antibody titres and behavior did not normalize until he had been taking the BHT and immune globulins for a number of months. I will ask him when he gets up this morning to get out the bottle of the herbal stuff and I will post it. I'm not crazy about BHT, it is banned in several countries as a preservative, and prolonged use can damage the kidneys and elevate liver enzymes. Mike was only taking one 500 mg capsule per day, which is a small amount. If you have toxo you need to have your veyers checked carefully, toxo can cause blindness.

It's quite the scary organism, babies infected with toxo can have their eyesight deteriorate 20 years later.

Hi Delores,

I have no idea what's causing what as the toxo, bart and mold all just run amuck especially in the eye department. I thought amatidyne (EBV titers are on the moon) was making my eyes worse so I quit when I tested like crap for it--and I tested 2 kinds and hid one as something else. When I got dx'd with toxo while preggers with my first kid 11 years ago, I did experience my first sinus infection, air hunger and histamine oozing face rash that must have been bad as my boss sent me home (and continued to send my lunches back, made sure my heels were not too high etc--the doc called him so he was on me like a mother hen) I have been getting more headaches recently and NEVER got them before unless I did alot on my T & E account to deserve it. But the my older son, hubby and his mom (and a few neices yada yada yada) do have difficulty reading and have all required support in school--they are slow, struggle and have the pervasive b, d, p, q borderline dyslexic dx.

The toxo bit has been nagging me for along time as my titers went through the roof over the years--even the idiot internist suggested that I see the ID doc that ordered the toxo and infectious disease testing but felt that i presented with scleraderma (say what!). I did find this on toxo and thought it interesting and considering checking in with a doc that roams Africa as well as NJ, but I gotta release alot info and do some begging to get my kids in (hint hint...hoping you know who I am referring to):

http://www.uchospitals.edu/news/2008/20080305-toxoplasmosis.html

As far as Bart--second child looked like he was held in by chicken wire and my legs have enough much bartonella vasculation to send me to get saline injections and limit what I might want to wear. Tested + without alot of effort...

And the strep...have a major strep infection erruption on my calves after doing a few ionic foot baths...the day after the bath I felt like I was getting sick with strep throat, but ER didn't feel it was necessary to swab my throat and low and behold. But lot of bart above and below those strep erruptions. My older one also has the really high PANDAS titers and bart big time--mold in the schools is tanking him but he's holding his own. My little one can't post a titer to save his life--asked the GI to swab, scope and take pictures of his throat tonsils on last endo/colonoscopy and the labs produced squat--but treating him for strep (augmentin has always been a disaster, his gut got ripped apart) has helped. Alternative testing shows we have alot of everything.

Wierd part is that 3 out of 4 of us don't present as ill. I know shit has hit the fan, but it's amazing how many co-pays and harmful treatments/lack of appropriate care has been dispensed. Up here in the freezing snow, the gold standard for a low IgG is another pneommoccal vaccine.

hope this makes a little sense...wiped out from the snow days, first boogies by little guy since flu shot and hubby's bad cold/flu. Hope that ground hog finds his shawdow next week!!
