Guest guest
Mike's holistic MD prescribed a two part herbal regimen. I will have to hunt down the empty bottle to get the name, I still have it "just in case." He had to stop part way through the second bottle because his liver enzymes went way high. At that point, we did a combination of BHT in grapeseed oil and an enterically coated, bovine immune globulin complex. The problem with toxo is that it is usually held in check by the immune system, and once the body is run down enough to let it get out of hand, putting the "genie back in the bottle" is tough. In Mike's case, IgG subclasses I and III were low, and his total globulin level was low. The infection only resolved after using the BHT and immune globulins for a year. The after effects only resolved after using Empower plus from Truehope in small amounts (not the dosage prescribed for people with bipolar disorder.) Toxo is scary because it can come back when the immune system is suppressed. I think that dealing with the reasons the toxo got out o f hand in the first place is as important as treating the infection. My guess is that the BHT allowed Mike's body to kill off whatever triggered the precipitous platelet drop that allowed toxo to overgrow. What was interesting was the effect EmPower had on the "residual effects" Not only did it resolve the sleep and personality issues that arose during the course of the infection, but the motor and facial tics that drove Mike crazy for years disappeared as well. My titers were and still are through the roof....and I know that these suckers are still part of the party. Mepron/malarone and art didn't do the trick....I can feel Para A hitting something, but what helped with the toxo. Toxo is looking like it is a seriously underrated infection and the testing stinks for this one as well. TIA, lisa
