Guest guest
,The PANDAS Network recommends ASO, D-nase B, IgG/IgM/IgA, Mycoplasma, EBV, Lyme disease (coninfections should be included), MRI, EEG, plus Cunningham test.http://pandasnetwork.org/treatment/I don't agree that EBV is the only possible virus that is involved. I feel a comprehensive viral panel is necessary. PANDAS in a narrow definition refers to an acute infection, even if there is no symptoms of fevers, inflamed tonsils, or soar throat. OCD, tics, and even seizures are some of the symptoms commonly seen in the PANDAS children. PITANDS refers to the post infections of perhaps a larger group of pathogens. This reminds me of Dr. RS's theory (HLA genotyping) that it isn't the infections that cause chronic inflammation and autoimmunity, but the toxins released by the treated infections continue to circulate in the body without successful excretion that make a person ill.Somehow intracellular parasitic infections are missing from this PANDAS/PITANDS discussion.Liminhey...can you guys rattle off the list of labs for both PANDAS AND PITANDS?
