Laureen,

Can you do a blood draw to see his titers for whooping cough?

Hello- Im wondering if anyone else has heard about this new law going into effect in July in California. Im extremely concerned as I rec'd the notice below from the Junior High my child will attend next yr. I just confirmed w the county office of Ed that there are absolutely " no outs " on this vac as there are for the " required " whopping cough vac.

The toxic ingredients in this vaccination can be found here:

Any advice is greatly appreciated - homeschooling isnt an option for us.Does anyone know of a way to obtain a cleaner form of this vaccine? Im assuming that is not possible...

thanks!

Please note a new law:

For the 2011 - 2012 school year all students 7th through 12th grades will need proof of the Tdap (that is Capital T, lower case d, a, p) immunization shot before the end of this school year.

Don't wait until the last minute, call your health care provider today and provide written proof to your child's school.

There are no exceptions or grace periods. No shot, No schedule, No school.

Thank You

There is an exemption available for this booster. As always, they don't advertise it. Just go to the school office and tell them you want to sign the personal beliefs exemption. Here's more info:Opt out will be an option, but parents will be asked to sign the followingstatement on form CDPH 8261:"I hereby request exemption of the child named above from the pertussis(whooping cough) immunization requirement for school entry because suchimmunization is contrary to my beliefs. The unimmunized child and the child's contacts at school and home are at agreater risk of becoming sick with pertussis which can be life-threateningfor young infants and can cause prolonged illness at any age.I understand that, for the protection of the child and other students, thechild may be excluded from attending school for prolonged periods duringeach outbreak of pertussis after each exposure to someone with pertussis."Laureen,Can you do a blood draw to see his titers for whooping cough?Hello- Im wondering if anyone else has heard about this new law going into effect in July in California.
