Hi Val,

Yes to a point. With my son we definitely noticed that he would get a cold shortly after the adjustment. This was for the first 6 months. We determined that it was an opening of the lymphatic drainage and old unresolved infections were draining out causing the symptoms. Cranial adjustments by a DO are very helpful to alleviate all of this. After that 6 months he hasn't had any issues at all and is doing great with it. My NT daughter also has the alf and hasn't had any issues either. Now it's just down to being a little uncomfortable for 2 days after the adjustment because of teeth moving. (like braces) But other than that it is all good and has been wonderful.

For those of you who are using ALF appliances, have you noticed increased reactivity or aggravation of symptoms after installing ALF? Is anyone using reverse headgear? My son has recently started with his ALF appliance and it seems like he is becoming more reactive to allergens -- seeming sensitive to ones he was okay with and new sensitivities developing, changing constantly. I am wondering if all the cranial pressures and moving of the bones may have caused aggravations and I hoping that if anyone else has experienced aggravations (allergies or otherwise) as part of the transitions/ "healing" process. I guess I am hoping to get some assurance that if there is a correlation, it would pass. Thanks,Val

I haven't used ALF, but we do chiropractic adjustments, and yes, there can be a

worsening of symptoms for the first days to months after starting. The good

news was that the symptoms that returned and/or worsened, then left. So, for

me, it's a sign of which symptoms will leave.

Love and prayers,
