Don't you just wish you could look inside their little brains and see what goes on in there?Right after Mike regressed big time at age 2, he stopped speaking altogether for a couple of months. One morning at 4 a.m., he came into the bedroom and said "I want to go get my food now please." I was sound asleep. I really did think I was dreaming. Mike had never, ever used more than 2 words together, and he never voluntarily approached people. The only time he came into our bedroom was to spin the blades on the fan we kept near the foot of the bed. He stood there just long enough for me to realize that it wasn't a dream, and I got his food. He did not use another sentence that long for nearly two years. I obsessed over the "why" of it for months, then finally gave up on ever figuring it out. I guess he

was really starving, or the stars lined up just right for a few seconds.Subject: Re: Any hopes for speech?-longTo: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism Date: Sunday, January 23, 2011, 7:40 PM

My 4 year old son has gained and lost speech twice. He is currently unable to say more than a few sounds and they come with great difficulty. He is able to write, type and construct with a Vantage Lite sentences up to 8 words long. He can communicate, just not speak. I am still trying to figure out what we were doing differently the last 2 times we got some speech. We are currently focusing on worms as I recently discovered he is full of them.
