Guest guest
I think I have an NT cat.? Actually, I love the kind of cat that you ignore for awhile until he or she decides to interact with you.? I have loved cats all my life and my Aspie father taught me how to interact with them.? I have a finger painting I did at the age of 3.? It's a cat (with a very long tail!!).? I picked out my current cat to be extra social because my husband is not used to cat culture.? So, he's a Maine Coon, probably, with the personality, as my vet says, of a large dog.? He follows my husband around quite a lot, which is good.? I was hoping for a good relationship between them.? But he still appreciates my cat communication skills! Carolyn
Guest guest
Carolyn, I babysat a Maine Coon cat for a couple of months-- and he was really social, too. I have seen plenty of cats wiggle the ends of their tails for hours on end- does that count as stimming, feline style? CC1874@... wrote: I think I have an NT cat.? Guest guest
I know what you mean. I've got a sociable cat as well. He's part Siamese, afraid of anything new, meows constantly and is our most 'controllable' cat. He comes when called and even if he wants something else he can easily be coaxed to cuddle. Our other two cats include one who never wants to be held (though he likes petting), and when you call him often comes to *just* out of reach, and another who if she's in the right mood she'll cuddle you if you pick her up or (more rarely) seek you out for cuddles, but she's easily bothered, will usually leave if you shift position and growls if you pick her up at the wrong time. But in terms of 'need for routine' our sociable cat is the most upset by change. He's a real scaredy cat and anything new is terrifying for him.
