No. My (previous) laptop runs Windows XP and IE. > I don't like Google's exclusive attitude. > The necessity for an invitation in order to open > an account is outrageous. I believe invitations are no longer necessary. You can just go to www.googlemail.com and sign up. But it looks like you don't want to ... Personally I don't think the behvaiour of Google as a business is worse than any of the competitors, and you have to get your e-mail somewhere ... Genyin -- " I know the answer! Guest guest
Apple/Mac is nice in that they do not get viruses like other computers. True but you literally pay for the privilege. In my recent searches for a replacement laptop even refurbished Macs start around GBP500. New I think you'd start at GBP800. Genyin -- " I know the answer! Personally I opt for an Apple. Kellie

Personally I opt for an Apple. Welll ... I've had my own laptop for over five years. The last year or two I've been using free antivirus downloads that update themselves. My laptop has never had a virus that has required money being spent on it, and seldom had one at all. When it has I've clicked the reccomended option (not knowing what it means), to either quarantine or remove the affected file ... and never had problems from it. I simply can't justify the pennies for a Mac. My " new " laptop is a refurbished one at about 1/4 the retail price. I've just added free anti-virus and spybot s & d. But if you can afford one then great :-) Genyin -- " I know the answer! The answer lies within the heart of all mankind! The answer is twelve? I think I'm in the wrong building. " M.
