Guest guest
my dad does this too. It's crazy, his inconsistency is crazy. yesterday i was very sick and asked him to pick up some things at the store, which he did which was very nice. then last night I was saying something about being sick and he kind of muttered something about me being sick because 'the demons got stirred up'. He likes to do this to people, he's been doing it for years, insult them right to their face but in a kind manner so they don't 'get' that they've been openly insulted. That is kind of off- topic, but he's so 'not real' ever, that I have to dismiss everything that comes out of his mouth and avoid him. I'd been sleeping during the day to avoid him but my being sick has messed it up and I had a little exposure yesterday. It's like he'll be nice/then slap you down/ then be nice/then slap you down, etc etc etc. There must be some hard- wiring in me that expects consistency or at least a rational reason when someone is an a-hole and that isn't present with bpd's and if you broach the issue they flame up like a hemorrhoid, it is really a no- win situation. That is enough to drive anyone crazy.
