Hi Jo-

One reason you may be experiencing fatty stools is that you are eating

more grains, pasta, bread-based foods with a vegetarian diet. Hence,

you're consuming more gluten.

Gluten sensitivity aka celiac disease is one of the major causes for

fatty stools (stools that float, are pale, and sticky are not

healthy). This is called malabsorption and is a sign of celiac disease.

It also indicates you may be malabsorbing not only fats but important

vitamins and minerals, such as iron and calcium.

This is very serious.

I went through myself, and ending up losing twenty pounds before we

discovered I am gluten intolerant.

Please consider going to a doctor for testing.

I have a lot of info and links to resources if you are interested;

Take care!

I've also been getting progressively more diarhea and fatty stools

(more whitish and floaty - sorry if it's TMI)

and bacon...all those things that I thought were causing the more

fatty stool.

Hi Karina,

I was exploring the gluten free diet. Yes, I was eating a lot of grains,

especially whole grains. I was concerned about the celiac thing and had done

some reading.

Now that I am back eating meat again, I'm doing terrific!

So, thank you. I think it was likely more to do with my diet and the celiac

thing than it was to do with my having two pancreas. That is a real relief for

me!

an x bf from new zealand had this passion for checking shit. maoris

used to gather around and inspect shit to check on their state of

health. healthy shit should be firm but not hard, dark brown unless

you have been eating beetroot or something like that. Healthy shit

does not have a strong odour and it does not float. That is a sign of

too much air, often due to yeast. A good digestive system compacts

the shit into a long log, not pellets. Wanna know more. Ask me.

btw shit checking was not my thing. the bf is ancient history but he

has found a gf who shares the passion.

Interesting. Mine are long and skinny, like snakes, usually. Sometimes

they're harder or even pellets. I wonder why it changes like that?

I wonder why everyone's so obsessed with poop. I've

seen listserve conversations go to shit before, but never literally ;)

Because it comes out of our bodies every day but we are *never*

allowed to talk about it? Makes sense to me.

I have a true story to tell here: some years ago i was in a

relationship with a woman. This woman, before that time, had been the

main carer for a recently paralysed young woman. One of her jobs was

to give the woman frequent enemas, and one days she did this and was

so amazed at how much came out that she showed it to the woman. The

woman burst into tears and said that since she became paralysed no one

had ever shown her her own shit and she had been afraid to ask to see

it in case it was seen as weird.

I reckon most of us take a regular look at what we've produced before

flushing it away, but since we hardly think about it in between times,

and never talk about it, we don't realise we're actually all quite

interested in what comes out of us.
