Guest guest
Dear Donna, Wishing you more good memories of your Mom. It was good to see your post. Hugs from NY, Helene (Mom 76, about 10 years with LBD) > > > , > > About eight months ago, on the one year anniversary of my mother's death, I wrote to the group. In my letter I mentioned a new clinic at Medical College of Virginia. You inquired about the name of the clinic and its director. I'm sorry it has taken this long to respond, but I thought it might one day be helpful to someone like myself, who felt alone and in need of some expertise on LBD. It seemed that there were resources for Parkinson's Disease, but the LBD diagnosis was a " horse of a different color " ! I thought you might be able to include this doctor/clinic in your list of services, for each state. Once again, even though Mom is no longer with me, I still read and learn from this very special list. Anne would have been 80 years old on Wednesday, February 9. I never believed that I would continue to miss her as much as I do. The good news is that the unbelievable " ugliness " of the last year of her life, fades more and more, with each passing day. I can now laugh and smile as I remember the essence and spirit of my mother and not the terrors of LBD. > > Thanks so much! > Donna Horbal > Richmond, Va. > (Mom died of LBD on June 1, 2009) > > > http://www.vcuhealth.org/news/?sid=1 > > > >
Guest guest
Donna - Thank you so much for your positive post and sharing the link to the clinic in VA - I will certainly add to the Doctor's list I especially liked " The good news is that the unbelievable 'ugliness' of the last year of her life, fades more and more, with each passing day. " -- that can be a fear of caregivers that their only memories will be the Lewy time... it's always nice to have the reassurance that it's not the case.. > > > , > > About eight months ago, on the one year anniversary of my mother's death, I wrote to the group.
