I have seen several EMTs and Paramedics in excess of 300 lbs and all of them

excellent. The only weight/height resriction should be on flight medics. Sorry

to hear about Cypress Creek, it sounds like there must be something else

justifing their decition. Good luck finding a service somwhere.

I would like to volunteer with a 911 service in the Houston area. I was a

volunteer driver with cypress Creek and when i got my emt they found a way to

boot me out of their organization. The ESD was wanting volunteers but they

said because of my size i was a safety factor. I weight about385 or a little

more and i have proven time and time again i can do the job as an EMT. The

Texas Dep. Of Health does not put a restriction on height or weight. Why

should anyone else? If the person can do the job set fourth then he or she

should be allowed to join the organization.(oh by the way the ESD has

overweight in-charge paramedics and paid staff. Don`t see the difference

unless they are trying to discriminate against me) I hope someone can give me

some response on this subject as I am willing to give my time to help others.

Thanks
