Guest guest
You have a point there. I didn't realise that he was an anti semite and a traitor till I read the links from the bio. I just remember him from when I was a kid, and he was one of my heroes. It's real sad to see what he became later. -- Joni Re: If he was, I wouldn't spread it around. The man was an anti-semite and a traitor. Guest guest
Hi Joni and all here, This may be slightly OT here but it does have to do with hero/idol worship. I happened to be a big fan until the proverbial shit hit the fan (as they say.) Such talent wasted and gone down the tubes!!! BTW, Anyone here catch on VH1 Dr. Drew's " Celebrity Rehab? " Really daunting.. I think it's overdue time we all got together and formed a FANS UNION and boycott or go on strike whenever these people (who are supposedly " role models " ) take on the roles of morons and misbehave. At least Joe Willie Namath knows what responsibility and taking accountability is. Hie got his bachelors' degree from University of Alabama. I know that that was probably one of the best Christmas gifts his daughters got from Dad. He may have had issues in the past, but don't we all?? We must know how to play our cards dealt us. Bobby Fischer... I remember when I was 12, my older brother was into the chess club in school and followed the tournament on TV. Sad he made the choices he did in life and went into exile in Iceland. I sometimes think that these people do not have proper guidance or are swayed the wrong way in their life. I have to admit, that I see plenty of train wrecks waiting to happen on the sidelines. Wanda " PASS it like Namath " --a play on " Bend it Like Beckham " here http://community.webtv.net/tikigalharkins/LETSTALKASPERGERS
Guest guest
I am watching celebrity rehab. Shows how much time on my hands to devote to trash TV, I want to say I cannot berate the 'bad' TV unless I view it, and my daughter is a part of this generation so sometimes I view it. Watching this guy Jeff who I have seen on Taxi and Grease, and now on this 'show' I am not any less a fan. Just because I didn't choose the crutch of heroin or vicodin or alcohol, etc. etc. doesn't make me better than him. I am glad he contributed to the world the way he did, and yes its sad because he " could have " done more in the arts, but I see it this way. I hope that in his all his strung out patheticness there are would be addicts with the chemical make-up that makes them predisposed to being addicted to chemicals, they see him and they are repulsed. Because this man probably will be dead within a year. If he does, its really not a waste. I think he's been a teaching soul. I think that when I see the show. I like to try and think, 'what are today's youth seeing?' The nasty side to trying drugs hopefuly. because today the drug of choice isn't a hit off a doobie, its far worse. They seem too stupid, or to be in such a state of apathy that they don't care and then wham they are so into the addiction that its a spiral of lying, stealing, despair. I am rooting for him. I don't think anyone on that show is saying " Look at these role models. " I think they are saying , quite the opposite.
