Guest guest
Hello everyone, is up and around, after the LP shunt " installed " on the 18th of this month. There is a valve in it that opens when she lies down, to a certain angle. She only had to lay down once so far to make the beginnings of a pressure headache go away within minutes. First she said it was half way gone then a few more minutes she said , all the way gone. And got back upright, for the rest of the evening. She is a little sore still of course, but no more diamox, no more propranolal, And we will see about seizure meds being reduced or stopped further on down the road. We know there can be problems with shunts, but we are loving this right now, let me tell you. I can be driving us anywhere now, to visit, which we could not do before, and she will every so often , just exclaim: " no headache, no headache!!! " in disbelief. It is about time. I don't even know what to do with myself yet. Hope everyone can have some relief too, at some point. Almost feel guilty since is so well right now, and I know others are suffering, still. It was a long wait for us, but there is hope . Sincerely, Terry, newton@... http://www2.fwi.com/~newton/.html
