Guest guest
Hi, I have always had trouble with chiari symptoms. I was not diagnosed until late 1995. Everyone around me would be well and I would be ill. When I was about 6 months old, I wrapped myself so tightly in a blanket that I was turning blue when my mother found me.(Thanks to a nightmare my older sister had.) When I was a little older and in a walker, I fell down the basement steps. Mom said I appeared to be allright except for a cut on my leg.(My current doc thinks this is probably why I have moderate arthritis in my right knee.) My chiari problems started to increaslingly get worse after I was accidently hit right where my neck and head meet. 6 months later, I fell off a motorcycle going very very slowly. 6 months after that one, I was involved in an auto accident. My passenger had nothing wrong with her, but I sure did. I have many, many falls due to different reasons-balance problems, ice, drop attacks, etc. Once I bent down to pick up the soap on the shower floor and bonked my head. Boy, did I get goofy. My college friends to me to the er. The er doc said I had a mild concussion. During and after, my two pregnancies, I got even worse. The first one I had severe morning sickness. I kept having to go into hospital for treatment as I would sometimes vomit every 5 or 10 minutes for long periods of time.(Aggravated my head!!!!!!!!) In Sept of 1995, I had a spinal tap to check for MS. Oh, my God, what a headache. I do have a small skull. My neuro knew I had sleep apnea before the study because of that. My bottom jaw is also smaller than it should be. So I really don't know whether my acm is acquired or I had it at birth.
