New Hire: Ron Hilliard

I'm very pleased to announce the hiring of Ron Hilliard RN, LP, as the new

Emergency Health Care Systems Team Leader for the TDH Bureau of Emergency

Management.

Ron was graduated with a BSN from Texas Christian University and completed

his paramedic training at the University of Texas Health Science Center at

San (UTHSCSA).

A 20-year veteran of the United States Army where he achieved the rank of

major, Ron's military career included a variety of clinical stints in both

adult and pediatric services. After completing his tours of duty and leaving

the Army, he worked for 5 years as the director of the First Responder

Division of the Dept. of Emergency Medical Technology at UTHSCSA where he

developed a medical first responders program in Bexar County. Ron comes to

us now from Round Rock Medical Center in Round Rock, TX where he was an ED

Charge Nurse, Trauma Coordinator, and former director of the Intensive Care

Unit. Additionally, he has volunteered his time as a captain in the

Pflugerville Fire Dept. ( County ESD#2) since 1995, and has been an

active participant in the Capital Area Trauma Regional Advisory Council

(CATRAC) for a number of years.

We feel very fortunate to have a person with his background and expertise in
