Guest guest
Hi, Ann. My mother took Keppra for a while as a precaution. Her myoclonus were fairly strong right off the bat and because her history included a benign brain tumor, the neurologist thought it should be tried because of the possibility of the strong tremors being more than we thought they were. The only problem I saw with it was Mom's fatigue level increased considerably. I asked the neurologist to reduce the dose, which she did. After a short period of time, I asked her to discontinue it, promising to watch Mom closely and let her know if we needed to go back to it. Again, she agreed. I saw no difference in Mom afterward except that her fatigue level wasn't as bad. Hope this helps a bit. Fortunately there's no danger of Dad's falling during a seizure - he rarely walks at all, and never transfers without an aide. So I guess I'll start him on it slowly, looking for side-effects. Just knowing that others have been down this path helps a lot. Sincerely, Ann
Guest guest
Ann - don't know anything about Keppra - just searched it on this board and there's not much listed. Starting low, going slow & watching like a hawk sounds like a good plan. > > Hi, Ann. My mother took Keppra for a while as a precaution.
