Guest guest
Hi Sheri, I'm sorry to hear that your father had a serious fall recently. A good place to find info on medications is rxlist.com or drugs.com. Both finasteride and tamsulosin are meds given to men for treatment of prostate problems. Does your father have prostate problems? Sometimes these meds are given to men prior to an LBD, MSA, or PD diagnosis because the men are suffering from incontinence and its presumed to be caused by an enlarged prostate rather than a neurodegenerative disorder. I would question these medications: Trazadone 25mg QD Ambien 5mg QD Seroquel 50mg BID Why does he need to be on Seroquel? Why does he need to be on both Trazadone and Ambien? All three of these medications are sedating, and typically one on its own is sufficient for sleep. (Giving Seroquel for the purposes of sleep is rather over-kill.) Is your father heavily-sedated?? I would question these medications: Norco 325 mg Q4H Tylenol 325 mg PRN Norco is a narcotic. So presumably your father can tolerate a narcotic. But it also contains Tylenol. If the Tylenol is given PRN, will that be too much Tylenol in a given day? Tylenol is toxic in large doses. Those are the only pain meds on the list (as far as I can tell....I'm a layperson). Good luck, Robin >2c. Re: Drugs > Posted by: " Sfarinha@... " > Sfarinha@... farinhasheri > Date: Sat Jan 1, 2011 11:59 am ((PST)) > >Hi Norma, thanks for this feedback.
