Guest guest
THANKS Tom for answering.. Here is a link for Estring but there isn't a picture. http://www.healthsquare.com/rx/estring.htm It is probably about as big as a diaphram and the ring itself is perhaps 1/8 inche around. ( best guess) do it is surely bigger than a piece of string. You can feel it inside upon insertion and some women expel it during a bowel movment. I know my son told me don't hold my hands behind my neck so I tried crossing them in front of my chest. I'll try your method. A pot tummy runs in my familiy, and I've put on a few pounds so my tummy is larger than my hips. I HATE THAT. I saw a urologist nurse practioner who told me my pelvic floor was in very good shape and my bladder was just down a tiny bit, not at all unusal for a woman my age. 53. She even thought I hadn't had kids so I must be in pretty good shape, on the inside.:-) My bladder problems were mostly urge incontinence, meaning, when I gotta go I gotta go. But no leaking, ever, thank goodness. I'm calmed down now quite a bit but I am sure that Estring set me off.. Also my doctor just cultured me for mycoplasma. He is sure I have it and said it is very hard to detect. Since I started back on doxy I have had relief. He did a vaginal and cervical culture, then put me on meds before the report. I also just started on a water pill for high BP but I doubt that would give me relief? They urologist said the only way to get the GYN's off my back was to have the KCI and upon exam, she's sure I don't have IC.. Lona ( I am not trimming your post and the info is so good) : Hi Lona. : Keep in mind, I don't know for sure what an estring is. Unless it is bigger that a piece of twine I doubt very much it could actually put preasure directly on a nerve. The nerves of the floor and genitalia, although : superficial compaired to lets say the peudendal, are not directly accessible to superficial touch. They may be very irritatied from the disease process or from the medications you are taking (to name a few) which : makes them more easily excited and sensitive. When you say bladder problems, what are you referring to? Leaking? Flooding? : : The abdominal msucle question is an interesting one. The abdominal muscles themselves do not actually connnect to the pelvic floor but....many people cannot contract one without the other. This gets to be a problem : when we try to get someone to stabilize the spine and they end up with alot of increased tension in the floor. Try this...tighten and hold the pelvic floor (kegal) and then tighten the abdominals by holding your : stomach in. Once you are aware that you have them both in a state of contraction, try to release the pelvic floor without releasing the abdominals. Then do the same thing but try to release the abdominals without : releasing the pelvic floor. The ability to do these two very simple activities independent of each other is a very important starting point to developing the msucles of the trunk. : : When you say your stomach muscles being in horrible shape are you referring to the amount of fatty tissue or do you mean you cannot hold in the muscles? : The problem with crunches is almost always the pain in the neck. Don't hold on to the back of your head or neck. Instead, place the heals of your hands on your forehead with the fingers projecting up and over the : forehead, nesting in the scalp (top of the head). : As you do your crunch hold your chin in with the heals of the hand by pulling down slilghtly. This eliminates the neck pain becasue you don't pull on the head. : The next most important thing is to hold the stomach in the entire time you do the crunch. If you cannot, then you must practice holding your stomach in as much time as you can. Keep trying to do the crunches but : make sure the stomach is pulled in the entire time. Otherwise you only work the rectus abdominus and that can get you into trouble by building a pouch on the front of your body. : TKOPT :
