Guest guest
Im 6 ft 3 and ive found that my ford thunderbird has alot of room and its low to the ground...i hope this helps Automobile question from Caregiver A caregiver in my local support group posed the following question: " I have a Saab 92x (5 1/2 years old) that is becoming harder and harder for my husband to get into. I am thinking I may have to get another car. Because of both our health problems and my city driving/parking skills, I would like to avoid a large car of any kind and especially one that requires stepping up to get into the car. I am wondering if anyone might have a suggestion for a smallish car with a wide passenger seat and/or other features that would improve ease of entry. Guest guest
victoria, i know they said smallish CAR, but daddy and i found the toyota RAV which is hte smallest fo suv for toyota was simplest to get in, esp for passenger as they basically just sit dwon adn then turn to get it, now stooping etc and then there is great hand grip on above door to help get out. just my opinoin sharon Subject: Automobile question from Caregiver To: LBDcaregivers Date: Monday, January 17, 2011, 5:49 AM  A caregiver in my local support group posed the following question: " I have a Saab 92x (5 1/2 years old) that is becoming harder and harder for my husband to get into. Guest guest
My husband also says that the RAV 4 is the easiest car to get into for him with his increasingly limited mobility. He wishes we had bought that instead of a Prius. Guest guest
Yes - my dad can barely walk, barely transfer from wheelchair to other chair - but he seems to have little trouble stepping up into my sister's van. He's not able to get into/out of my Cavalier, but the van - no problem. Once up he does have some trouble moving enough sideways so we can shut the door and fasten the seatbelt. Stepping down and out works well also.
