Mayo Clinic gets $1 million to study dementia

The Mayo Clinic has received a four-year, $1 million grant to study Lewy body

dementia, the second-most common form of dementia in the United States.

Researchers at Mayo's ville and Rochester, Minn., campuses hope to shed

light on how the disease develops, how to treat it more effectively and how to

diagnose it better, Mayo officials said in a news release. The gift is from the

Harry T. Mangurian Jr. Foundation, named after the former businessman and owner

of the Boston Celtics.
