Guest guest
Don't know if this is generally possible in humans, or in some, or just me... Doing consciously (what feels subjectively like) contracting a muscle inside the head, behind ears creates (what feels subjectively like) an overwhelming " curtain " of rumbling noise. After it, a sort of feeling of relaxation or sleepiness... I can do that in quick impulses, or a wave up to ~5 seconds. It may be repeated. Not so pleasant to be addictive, but may be handy to " insulate " from overwhelming sounds or experiences. It's unobservable from the outside, no movement or macroscopic noise. I believe it's a real muscle because it has a limited length, and repeating feels like " fatigue " . May be a cranial nerve (like those controlling face movements) controlling constricting blood flow, or the inner ear link (Eustachio's canal). Deep yawning may comprise it. Anyone also observing this ? Mircea
