Guest guest
Furball, I agree with you! MY GRIPE: In adition, the following thing has happened: they have this greatr software where if you her a tune, you can turn it on, and click, and it tells you the artist and where you can buy the music. It would work, for example, on theme songs for movies. I am good at this anyway: what I have difficulty with at present are actors and actresses. Where is the software that face blind folk can use, to point at actors and actresses and get their names back? I would like to have a hand-held divice where I could enter each of my friends with a picture, and when someone says hello to me, I could aim my equipment at him or her, shoot, read the name, and say hello back- intelligently! Hay, people who have alzheimers (sorry for usijng person first- do they have an opinion on this as a group?) could use it, too. I am only asking my equipment to compare one friend to another, and pick the best match: not discriminate amoung billions of people. Subject: making it hard for the blind to E-mail Channing To: AutisticSpectrumTreeHouse Date: Saturday, November 22, 2008, 1:55 AM NIIIIIRRRRRRRRR! !!!!!!!!! :-( I E-mailed Channing because I want her to be my penpal in E-mail and this thing came back to me so I hit enter on the link to " " " verify " " " that she'll get my E-mail faster... so I went there and it's this crappy captia which you can't do when you're blind! I can't see those neiny (bad) characters that show up, and JAWS For Windows doesn't read those! Bad! I hope she gets my E-mail somehow. (Channing, if you're male I'm sorry I said she.) -a mad Furball

Futurists, in fact, are predicting that this type of technology will be available as the Internet becomes more widespread and gains more features, probably within the next ten to twenty years. Guest guest
Parrish, I believe that the capability exists now. What would make it even cooler would be to be able to morph each of those faces, and have the software interpret them emotionally, so that an autistic romantic partner could use it to determine the NTs feelings, and reply intelligently there, too- <grin> > I would like to have a hand-held divice where I could enter each of > my friends with a picture, and when someone says hello to me, I > could aim my equipment at him or her, shoot, read the name, and say > hello back- intelligently!
